AVG Surf-Shield The Surf-Shield technology, part of the LinkScanner component, protects you when browsing online. It can detect exploit sites employing malicious code, phishing sites aimed at tricking you into providing personal information, or hacked sites – originally serious and legitimate, but potentially dangerous and unpredictable after being subject to a hacker attack. Unlike the Online Shield component, which can recognize common viruses and spyware, AVG Surf-Shield specializes in detecting exploits and other more complex online threats.
Compatibility note: The Surf-Shield technology monitors HTTP traffic without reference to your web browser, which means that it works with any browser. |
